Dulwich Village has a beautiful high street and a proud history of welcoming visitors from near and far. It should be thriving — with independent shops growing, taking on new staff, and serving a vibrant community.
Instead, the opposite is happening.
Much-loved businesses like Romeo Jones, Jigsaw, Biff, and now Heritage Cheese have closed their doors. The shops that remain are seeing sharp declines in footfall, reviewing opening hours, and even reducing staffing.
Local Labour councillors blame Amazon — refusing to accept that their own traffic and parking policies are a major cause of the problem. They continue to cite discredited studies claiming that walkers and cyclists spend more than drivers, even as the Village becomes more confusing, less accessible, and less welcoming.
We want to save our high street and we need your help to do it.
sign our petition calling on the Council to act now and save our high street by:
- offering more free parking spaces near the shops for residents, business and visitors.
- scrapping road restrictions that are hurting our local businesses.
- reversing the 24/7 parking charges in Dulwich Park.
Thank you for your support.
