Graffiti and illegal posters left to linger make our streets look neglected and unsafe. They put customers off local shops and encourage more vandalism and street crime, which is continuing to get worse.
We’re calling on Southwark Council to launch a 6-month pilot in the Herne Hill end of Dulwich Village ward with a simple standard:
- All offensive material cleared within 24 hours
- All other graffiti and fly-posting cleared within 48 hours
The Council should clean its own premises fast, support independent traders with a free shopfront cleaning service, and hold big landlords like the Dulwich Estate and utilities such as BT/Openreach, Vodafone and Royal Mail to the same 48-hour standard using enforcement powers where needed. Results should be published monthly so everyone can see the difference.
Add your name and let’s make it happen.
Kind regards,
Clive Rates & Tristan Honeyborne
