This is our local contract with you – the residents of Clapham Town. It sets out what we will do as your local councillors and how we’ll do it.
No empty promises. Just a clear plan to improve our community, together with you.
- We will work with the police to get more foot patrols in trouble spots and support residents to rebuild neighbourhood watch groups.
- We will improve Clapham’s transport by pushing TfL for improvements at Clapham Common station and extra trains on the Northern Line at peak hours.
- We will organise regular clean-up days to fight against fly-tipping and push Lambeth Council to bring back weekly bin collections to ensure our community is kept tidy.
- We will introduce a Pride in Clapham Town Annual Award for the ward’s best kept road or square, helping to bring back pride in our community.
- We will demand that Lambeth Council ensure much swifter turnaround in council house repairs, so as to reduce the scandalous level of 22% of those homes being “non-decent”.
